🍺 Edgetoberfest Takes Over the Edge District Saturday

Flyway Brewing is teaming up with the Edge District for Edgetoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • 🚗 Stein and shine. Check out classic cars at the Edge Motor Museum, then hoist a stein and hear live music at Flyway. Grab a sandwich for lunch at Hard Times.

  • 🆕 New spots, new sips. The Good Old Fashioned Way has its grand opening, and Gussied Up is trying out new drinks and food. End the night with cocktails at Bar Limina.

Flyway is at 598 Monroe Ave., and a vendor art market runs from 2 to 6 p.m. See the full details here.

✈️ Olive Branch Airport Opens a New Corporate Hangar

A new corporate hangar at Olive Branch Airport in Olive Branch, Mississippi, officially opened on Sept. 20.

  • 🛩️ Plane and simple. The hangar is for corporate aircraft that recently moved to the airport for good, plus bigger visiting planes that don't fit in the older hangars.

  • 🏗️ Fifty-seven and counting. Federal funds paid for the project. It brings the airport's total to 57 hangars.

🐶 Puppy Yoga Comes to Soul & Spirits Saturday for Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

Streetdog Foundation, a Memphis dog rescue nonprofit, is hosting puppy yoga at Soul & Spirits on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. It's a fitting way to spend Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.

  • 🧘 Namaste, nose boops. Puppy yoga is a yoga class where puppies roam the room. Stretching is optional. Cuddling is not.

  • 🍺 Cuddles guaranteed. It starts at 2 p.m. Your ticket gets you $5 beers and guaranteed puppy cuddles. The Ritzies BBQ food truck will be there too.

🎸 Mempho Kicks Off Friday With More Than the Headliners

Mempho Music Festival runs Friday through Sunday, Oct. 9 to 11, at Radians Amphitheater in the Memphis Botanic Garden.

  • 🎶 Deep cuts. STS9 and Broken Social Scene join Pretty Lights and Spoon on Friday. Saturday adds De La Soul, Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs and Dumpstaphunk. Sunday adds JJ Grey & Mofro and Fishbone.

  • 😱 Don't panic. Widespread Panic plays two sets on Saturday and two on Sunday. Gary Clark Jr. plays Saturday, and Ziggy Marley plays Sunday.

🍷 Wine on the River Returns to Tom Lee Park Saturday

Wine on the River Memphis is back for its 11th year on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Tom Lee Park.

  • 🍇 Grape expectations. Sip samples from national and international wineries while local musicians play. General admission covers entry, all samples and a souvenir tasting cup.

  • 🥂 Very important pours. VIP gets 30 minutes of early entry, a premium cup, a reserved seating area and light appetizers. All proceeds benefit Door of Hope.

⛳ Tee time, coming soon. A permit in plan review covers a tenant build-out for The Back Nine Golf at 4846 Village Market Lane in Arlington. The permit doesn't list a size or cost, but it points to a new indoor golf spot coming to the Village Market area.

📖 Story time, with moves. Reading Rhythms returns to Beale Street Landing on Friday, Oct. 9, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Kids ages 2 to 5 get storytime with Cossitt Library, then a movement class led by Firefly Creative, then refreshments and crafts. 🚋 Ding, ding, maybe. Mayor Paul Young says the city has set a target of Dec. 15 to bring the downtown trolley back. MATA suspended service in August 2024 because of a budget deficit and costly brake repairs. WREG says MATA planned to run four trolleys on Main Street. Read more.

🎭 Much ado about free. Tennessee Shakespeare Company presents Love's Labor's Lost at WISEACRE OG Taproom on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. It's the 10th annual free Shout-Out Shakespeare show. 🏀 Preseason, but loud. The Grizzlies opened the preseason Monday night with a 132-123 win over the Hawks in Atlanta, leading 81-61 at halftime. Their first home preseason game is tonight against the Orlando Magic at FedExForum. Get tickets here.

⛳ Par-tee time. ECS junior Mathile Walker won the Division 2-A state golf title by five strokes. It's the Eagles' first-ever girls championship, according to the Daily Memphian. Read more.
