Good morning, Memphis! ☀️
Pack up the car! We're taking a field trip around the metro this morning, and the tank is full of good news. Halloween is Saturday, so don't worry, we packed plenty of snacks for the ride.
Here's where we're headed today:
🔧 Germantown: An old auto parts store trades oil for orange juice.
🍬 Downtown: Bring a candy bag. Leave with a voting plan.
🎸 Whitehaven: A 90-year-old blues legend takes a victory lap.
🏓 Arlington: A dozen new places to dink.
🧠 Rest stop: Blues trivia
🏗️ Back downtown: A to-do list with a lot of zeros.
Buckle up and let's get into it.

🌅 Sunrise Memphis Is Bringing Breakfast to Germantown

Photo: Sunrise Memphis (East Memphis)
Good news for Germantown breakfast fans! Sunrise Memphis is planning its third restaurant in Germantown, inside a former AutoZone. A permit to turn the building into a restaurant is under review now, so breakfast is officially on the way.
🥞 Rise and dine. This will be Sunrise's first spot in the suburbs. If you can't wait, you can already find them Downtown on Jefferson Avenue and at Sunrise East on Poplar Avenue. The new one will be roomy, too, at about 4,900 square feet.
🔧 Parts unknown, for now. Sunrise comes from the same team that started Central BBQ, so they know a thing or two about feeding Memphis. Plan on pulling up a chair in late spring 2027.

🎃 Trick-or-Treat and Get a Voting Plan at the Civil Rights Museum Saturday

Photo: National Civil Rights Museum
Here's a Halloween party with a purpose. The National Civil Rights Museum is hosting Trick or Vote on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. It's free for the whole family, and the museum asks you to sign up ahead of time.
🍬 Treats for the kids. Little ones can trick-or-treat, try fun activities and fill up their candy bags. There will be a DJ and a food truck, too. Costumes are optional, but the museum would love to see you dressed as a civil rights hero.
🗳️ A plan for the grown-ups. While the kids snack, volunteers can help you check your registration, find your polling place and know what to bring to vote. Early voting wraps up Thursday, Oct. 29, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

🎸 Buddy Guy Closes His 90th Birthday Tour at Graceland Thursday

Photo: Graceland LiVE
Mark your calendar, blues fans. The legendary Buddy Guy plays Graceland Soundstage on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. It's the very last stop on his BG90 Tour, and Memphis gets to send him off.
🎂 Still shredding at 90. Guy turned 90 in July, and he's still going strong. Just this February, he won his ninth Grammy for Ain't Done with the Blues. We'd say the title fits.
🎟️ Seats still open. There's still time to grab a ticket. Seats start at $58.50 with fees, and front-row seats go for $169.50.
