🍺 Drink a Beer, Save a River at Flyway Brewing Friday
Flyway Brewing Co
The Wolf River Conservancy is taking over Flyway Brewing this Friday, Aug. 28, and every pint helps protect the river.
Sip for science. From 5:30 p.m. to close, 25% of every beer sold goes to the Conservancy. At 6 p.m., Memphis Zoo researcher Dr. Anne Sabol shares how more than 30 hidden cameras around the city track our wild neighbors.
Water you waiting for? The Wolf River watershed helps refill the aquifer Memphis drinks from. Great water makes great beer, so this round is personal. The event is free at 598 Monroe Ave.

🕺 A Disco Murder Mystery Hits the Halloran Saturday
Disco Detective
Grab your bell-bottoms. Disco Detective brings an interactive murder mystery to the Halloran Centre this Saturday, Aug. 29.
Memphis-made mystery. The show comes from Memphis creator Princeton James, whose credits include Bluff City Law and Uncorked. Expect soul music, laughs, and audience sleuthing for about 90 minutes
Groovy clues. The story takes place at a 1970s TV station's big anniversary special, until someone turns up dead on air. The audience helps crack the case, with soul music and laughs along the way.
Double feature. A second show was added, so you get two chances: 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. at 225 S. Main St. Recommended for 18+.

🎨 The Pink Palace Crafts Fair Is Coming Home
For the first time in decades, the Pink Palace Crafts Fair returns to the museum's own grounds, Sept. 25 to 27.
There's no place like home. The fair started on the museum lawn in 1973, then moved to Audubon Park when the crowds got too big. For year 54, it is back at the Pink Palace Museum & Mansion at 3050 Central Ave.
Crafts and a bonus. Expect 150+ artisans from around the country selling pottery, jewelry, glass, and more, plus live demos and family fun. Your fair ticket also gets you free same-day admission to the museum's permanent exhibits.

🎶 Be First Inside Memphis's Newest Music Venue
Before the tour buses arrive, Satellite Music Hall is letting Memphis in first with a Community Preview Night on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Sneak peek, good cause. Get an early look at the brand-new 1,300-person venue at Crosstown, two nights before its grand opening. Every dollar from the preview goes to the Stax Music Academy.
A name with soul. The hall is named for Satellite Records, the original name of Stax. Doors at 6 p.m., show at 7, all ages. This fall it hosts Chance the Rapper, Modest Mouse, and ZZ Top.

🔌 Light at the end. MLGW CEO Doug McGowen says most storm outages should be fixed by Thursday evening. About 35,000 customers were still without power Monday evening, down from a peak of more than 140,000. Around 800 workers are on the job.

🎤 Detroit meets Memphis. Rappers 42 Dugg and Babyface Ray bring the 4 The Trenches Tour to Minglewood Hall on Friday at 8 p.m. Dugg broke out through Yo Gotti's Memphis-based CMG label, so the 901 is basically family.
✈️ Cleared for comfort. An Escape Lounge is coming to Memphis International, and you won't need a fancy credit card to get in. Day passes will be available in advance or at the door, with food and drinks included. No opening date yet.
💘 Brew-mance. Looking for your person? Speed dating takes over Wiseacre HQ on B.B. King Blvd Thursday at 6 p.m. Spots are limited to 10 men and 10 women, ages 25 and up, and tickets include a drink. A free social mixer follows for everyone 21+.
🌙 Moonwalk to Collierville. The Shops at Carriage Crossing hosts Carriage After Dark Friday on the Center Green: refreshments at 6:30 p.m., a dance performance by L.Y.E. Academy at 7 p.m., then a free outdoor screening of Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic, at 8 p.m.
🏃 Miles that matter. The 19th annual Forrest Spence 5k takes over Shelby Farms Saturday at 8 a.m. The race supports Mid-South families with critically or chronically ill children. Registration is $30, and kids get their own dash at 9:15 a.m.
